A very unusual and beautiful set of six French barbotine majolica asparagus serving plates, featuring a typical ‘trompe l’oeil’ textured decoration of globe artichokes and purple asparagus tips, artfully entwined with each other to create a pleasing colour palette of creams, greens, golds and purples. Made in the renowned ceramic-producing Orchies area of north-eastern France, around the end of the 19th century.
