Dinner Service in Antique Blue and White Ironstone Transferware
$4.500,00
A delightful 33-piece dinner service in traditional blue and white antique French ironstone, made by the famous French faience manufacturer Hautin, Boulenger & Company (HB & Cie) of Choisy le Roi, in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris. Dating from around 1900, this beautiful service is decorated in an exquisite monochrome blue transferware design of rocailles and floral motifs on a creamy white background, with exuberant garlands embellishing the borders and corners of the various pieces. The set comprises an assortment of dinnerware pieces, and includes:
* 12 dinner plates (diameter 27cm)
* 12 soup plates (diameter 27cm)
* 1 lidded tureen
* 1 salad bowl
* 1 sauce boat
* 1 ravier (small rectangular serving dish) for hors-d ́œuvres
* 3 square platters
* 2 meat platters (in two sizes)
The plates have been crafted in a softly octagonal form, while the tureen and sauceboat feature wonderfully ornate and detailed handles, which echo the Rococo styling of the décor.
