19th C. Pair of Porcelaine de Paris Cassolettes
$1.900,00
An exquisite pair of Porcelain de Paris ‘cassolettes’, finely crafted and hand-painted with a cartouche of polychrome flowers on a striking lapis blue background, ornamented all around with gilt accents. Each basin-shaped dish features its own individual design of meadow and hedgerow flowers, encircled by a golden band, with additional concentric bands of gilt adorning the outer dish rim and gently flared base. Cassolettes are decorative vases or containers, which were designed to be placed on the fireplace mantel in pairs, or one on each side of an ornate clock or lamp.
Please note that a matching Porcelain de Paris Oil Lamp of the same design is available on our website.
