Napoleon III period ebonised guéridon table

A stunning Napoleon III ebonised guéridon table, with a lacquered circular top, and featuring a swirling parcel gilt decoration around the perimeter and a hand-painted polychrome design of wild flowers and foliage at the centre. The table is supported by an elegantly turned pedestal ending in a gilt-decorated tripod base. This dainty and attractive little table would be suitable for a variety of different uses, including as a sofa end table, cocktail drinks stand or side table. There is some minor wear and tear to the decoration, consistent with age, but this does not detract from its charm.

Circa 1880
