Pair of French Porcelain Cups and Saucers. Paris, 19th Century
$2.200,00
An extremely elegant pair of ‘Porcelaine de Paris’ breakfast cups, with matching saucers, dating from the early 19th century. These sensational cups are decorated with hand-painted countryside scenes, and highlighted with generous bands of hand-applied gilt, their arching, spiralled handles rising high above the delicate rims. Capacious enough to hold a voluminous morning coffee, they would be a very striking addition to any breakfast table.
Paris, Circa 1830
Please note that, in keeping with their age and usage, there are some minor imperfections to the gilt.
