French Pair of Ironstone Lidded Tureens by Hippolyte Boulenger
$1.400,00
A splendid pair of antique French ironstone lidded soup tureens, or legumières, similar in design, although not identical. Once used for serving vegetables or soup at the dinner table, they are in good vintage used condition, nicely shaped and ivory in colour, with a delicate transferware motif of blue roses. Each tureen has two side handles and a close fitting lid, with a square shaped handle on top. The tureens are marked on their bases with the manufacturer’s mark of Hippolyte Boulenger and Roscoff, of Choisy- le-Roi near Paris, and date from around 1900.
