Empire-style Crystal and Brass ‘Bonbonnière’, or Sweet Box


A very decorative Empire-style crystal sweet box, or Bonbonnière, intricately clad in a gilt-brass frame, with elaborately worked gilt metal mounts of the arts, a warrior on his chariot, and laurel wreaths. This square-sided crystal glass box dates from around 1900, and features a gilt brass lid, decorated with laurel leaves, topped with a knob in the form of three eagles.
