An unusual pair of gilt-bronze mirrored wall sconces, with shaped and bevelled mirrors within ornate violin-shaped frames. Rococo scrolls and leaf decorations encircle the glass, and extend along the two shaped arms, which terminate in elaborate candle holders, complete with textured drip tray. In times past, these would have served as useful lighting fixtures for dark corners, where the mirrored plate would reflect and magnify the candle’s flame.1
