A pair of very ornate gilt bronze candlesticks, richly decorated with motifs of acanthus leaves and string-of-pearls on their heavy circular bases. The baluster-shaped torsos are fluted around their centres, ornamented with additional foliage and pearls, and supporting gadrooned, chiseled sconces. These handsome candlesticks date from the 19th century, although they are created in the style of 18th century work.
