A beautiful Murano blown glass ‘Millefiori’ vase in deepest sky blue, with a decoration reminiscent of sliced sweets. This gorgeous effect has been created by the use of ‘murrine’, which is an Italian term for coloured patterns or images made in rods of glass. Murrine are designed by layering different colours of molten glass around a core, then heating and stretching it into a rod. When cool, the rod is sliced into cross-sections of desired thickness with each slice possessing the same pattern in cross-section. This beautiful little vase is really eye-catching, and would look beautiful on a sunlit windowsill or dining table.
