A fascinating and very attractive Louis XV petite commode in veneered wood, with a geometric inlaid marquetry decoration. Three slim drawers open to the front, with another to the side, providing lots of useful storage space. The most intriguing feature about this piece, however, is the artfully concealed pull-up screen, which is hand-painted in a Chinese design on both sides. There is a little damage to the paintwork, in keeping with its age, but this only adds to its character!
