An antique French candle stand (or ‘torchère‘), in elaborately carved, gilded wood. The single column pedestal support features delicately carved feet encrusted with leaves and flowers, while the top is encircled by carved hearts. In excellent condition keeping with its age.

Found in a provencal Mas (Mansion of Provence) near Avignon.
