An antique French green-glazed terracotta Anduze garden urn
$5.400,00
Hand-made by the Boisset pottery at Anduze in the South of France, this imposing 19th century terracotta garden urn, in mottled green glaze, is moulded in relief with swags and roundels. Historically planted with citrus or olive trees to adorn aristocratic gardens, these beautiful planters have a timeless elegance, and remain as popular today as when they were first made in 1803 by Etienne Boisset. This fine example shows some signs of wear, with some minor chips in keeping with its age and usage.
Circa 1830
