Wide French Painting “Fishing Scenery along the Coast” by Charles De Saint Geran
$4.650,00
French oil on canvas: “Fishermen unloading their catch”, by Charles de Saint Geran (1884– 1963). Painted in around 1930, this superb piece of art perfectly captures a rare moment of stillness and calm on the water as two small rowing boats bring their marine bounty to the rocky shore. The clouds in the sky have parted to allow great shafts of light to illuminate the scene, creating evocative reflections on the still water. The painting is signed on its lower right-hand corner, and is presented in its original, ornately carved gilt frame, which has aged beautifully.French
