Petite Alabaster and Marble Bust of a Woman in a Turban
$2.250,00
A gorgeous late 19th century bust of a woman in a turban by renowned Italian sculptor Guglielmo Pugi (1850-1915), who was born in Fiesole, Italy, and who worked from a studio in Florence. Strikingly serene, this beautiful woman has her head turned to one side, her hair wrapped in a simple cloth turban. The sculptor has carved her head from pale alabaster, whilst her simple tunic dress is carved from a pale grey marble. Decorative detailing to the neckline and to her turban adds an extra touch of charm. The bust has been signed by the sculptor on the back of the slim plinth.
