Pair of 19th Century Carver Chairs
$4.400,00
An inviting pair of antique French carver chairs, complementary in design and each upholstered with comfortable woven rush seats. These wonderfully rustic chairs, with their high and shapely ladder backs, differ principally in the style of their armrests and legs; one features generously scrolled arms, and is fully stretchered on all four sides over saber legs, while the other has nicely curved arm rests and cabriole legs at the front. They originate from the Provence region of the south of France, and date from the 19th century. Still in fantastic condition despite their great age, these chairs do have minor age-related imperfections, with historic knocks and repairs present in places, as would be expected with antique furniture of this kind. They convey plenty of rustic French country charm all the same.
