French Vintage 43-Piece Faïence Dinner Service “Moustiers” by Longchamp
$5.600,00
A charming 43-piece table service made by the renowned Burgundy-based earthenware specialists Longchamp, and dating from around 1950. The pattern is called ‘Moustiers’, which is itself a French provençal village with a history of earthenware production, and from where this particular style of whimsical decoration with its emphasis on rustic characters, birds, butterflies and flowers, originated. Featuring a gorgeous colour palette of greens, reds and oranges on a simple white background, each piece has an undulating rim with a simple, yet refined, hand-painted border of blue and red, which accentuates the unusual shape of each piece. Each piece bears the maker’s mark of ‘Moustiers Longchamp France’ on its base.
