A very large and imposing cobalt-blue overlay cut-to-clear lead crystal Champagne cellar. Styled in the manner of the famous Compagnie des Cristalleries de Saint Louis, this sumptuous piece stands on a solid, square pedestal, its egg-shaped top lifting off to reveal a wide bowl suitable for the storage of Champagne flutes, or even for use as a caviar bowl. Hand-cut swags are etched into the vibrant blue to reveal the clear crystal below. An extremely impressive accessory for a formal drinks party. Marked as being one of only 500 made, it has a small chip inside the lid, but this does not detract from its dignity.
