A beautiful Louis XVI style cache pot in porcelain and silver
$1.300,00
A beautiful and intricately painted Louis XVI style ‘Cache Pot’ in white porcelain with a silver frame. From the French verb ‘cacher’, meaning ‘to hide’, these vases were designed to contain and disguise the utilitarian growing pot of an indoor plant, and to make an attractive feature of indoor greenery. A delicate design criss-cross design of pink roses, foliage and gold spots encircles the body of the vase, while the upper silver frame is hallmarked with the 950/100 Minerva head stamp, and features garlands of flowers and swags, with tiny ibex head handles on opposing sides.
