A superb early 19th century Empire period water pitcher in Porcelain de Paris and finely embellished with gilt in a striking, hand-painted design of flowers, leaves and other decorative motifs typical of the period. The upper rim, spout and handle of the jug are fully gilded, with a delicate motif of grapes and vine leaves encircling the circular pedestal base. The jug is beautifully shaped, with a graceful arched handle and finely shaped pouring spout. A very chic piece of vintage porcelain, and a perfect addition for a stylish bedroom or bathroom.
