Beautiful baluster-shaped vase with handles, from the fine Bordeaux ceramic factory of Jules Vieillard. Vibrantly decorated with scenes from Greek mythology, including a depiction of Pan, god of hunting and companion of the nymphs – a half human with the legs and horns of a goat. Serpentine handles flank each side of the vessel, while a waterleaf frieze encircles the base. Some small areas of damage are visible. The vase is signed on the reverse.
