A fine, late 19th century Louis XV style gilt overmantel mirror, with a shaped and moulded frame. An elaborately carved and out-sized asymmetric crest in a foliate scroll and stylised Rocaille motifs adorns the peak. The inner frame is decorated with a ‘string of pearls’ motif, while the sleek, fluted frame features elegant, round-chamfered corners at the base. As would be expected with a piece of this age, there are some small areas of damage to the frame, but nothing that detracts from its beauty.
