A very large and impressive 19th century Louis XV style overmantel mirror in wood and gilded stucco. An elaborately carved and out-sized asymmetric crest in a foliate scroll and stylised Rocaille motifs adorns the peak. The inner frame is decorated with a ‘string of pearls’ motif, while the sleek, fluted outer frame features additional moulded designs on its sides and at its base. Beautifully aged, the mirror stands on two protruding, moulded feet and contains a nicely bevelled glass plate.
