A beautiful pair of Louis XV Epoque carved cabriolet armchairs (fauteuils cabriolets) in natural wood, with upholstered seat, back-rest and arm-rests, raised on cabriole legs. The well-worn but eye-catching upholstery, in blue and white floral tapestry fabric, is secured with a nailhead trim throughout. The generously wide proportions of these chairs were designed to accommodate the largest of the extravagant ladies’ dresses of the period. Note the the slight difference in size for Monsieur and Madame. In good and original condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age.
