A very smart set of fourteen mahogany dining room chairs dating from the Napoleon III period (19th century). Although very similar, not all are identical, with a total of 6 slightly differing variants across the set. Each of the back rests is beautifully constructed with a shaped ‘cross’ design, embellished at the centre with an intricately carved rose, while each seat cushion is removable, and is upholstered in elegant green velvet. The front legs are nicely curved in a ‘frog’s leg’ style, and the back legs are shaped in the saber style.
