An imposing Gothic-style solid silver mass chalice
$6.200,00
An imposing Gothic-style solid silver mass chalice, richly decorated with flowers and pinecones on the calix, and a motif of religious crosses, flowers and carved symbols throughout. Hallmarked on the neck with the head of the goddess Minerva to denote purity of the silver. Created for ecclesiastical purposes, and in particular the taking of the Eucharist at Communion, the chalice has been an integral part of Christianity since antiquity, and examples rarely become available for sale.
