A pair of highly ornate ‘Cassolettes’ (decorative urns) crafted from white marble mounted with ormolu (finely gilded bronze) and designed to sit atop a mantlepiece, perhaps on either side of a matching clock. Designed to resemble a classically shaped urn on a elaborately decorated pedestal, these fabulously elaborate vessels have elegantly shaped gilt bronze side handles, and are mounted on shaped marble bases, embellished with ormolu panels.
