19th century French Pastry (or Butcher’s) Table in Cast Iron with Marble Top
$19.000,00
This beautiful and rare 19th century marble-topped pastry (or butcher’s) table in lacquered cast iron and brass, features large C-Scroll legs with wrought iron stretchers connecting each end. The top is original marble, with a few dents and scratches in keeping with its age, while the decorative apron below features a linear motif of acanthus leaves and palmettes. Tables such as this one were originally used in patisserie shops, but also to display decorative cuts of meat in the ‘boucherie’ (butcher’s). This ornate table would serve as a unique console table, or perhaps as part of a set of outdoor furniture.
