Napoleon III Period Giltwood Mirror
$7.800,00
A 19th-century French ‘trumeau’ (or ‘pier glass’) mirror, in gilded wood. This large and imposing Louis XVI-style, Napoléon III epoque mirror would have originally been set into the wood panelling or wall space between two windows to amplify the light, and add a reflective, decorative element to the wall. The upper portion features an oval medallion oil- on-canvas painting of a gallant scene, framed with moulded garlands of flowers, ribbons and strings of pearls.
