A superb 19th century Provençal terracotta water cruche (jug), with spout and two handles, and complete with lid, which is most unusual. Glazed in traditional green, with yellow lid, and showing lots of characterful wear in keeping with its age and usage, this beautiful vessel would have been used to transport water to workers in the farm fields, keeping it cool and clean, ready for drinking.
