Antique French walnut chest, 17th century.

A simple but sturdy walnut chest, with hinge-opening lid to reveal a useful storage space inside. This wooden trunk is beautifully aged with centuries of wear and tear making their mark on its exterior surfaces, which only adds to its great character. Of particular note is the ornate silver escutcheon, which hints at a previous life as a prized possession or of great treasures kept inside.
