A gleaming 19th century Louis Philippe gilt mirror with extravagant shell and flower cartouche. Typical of the style, this beautiful mirror features the elegantly rounded upper corners and clean lines of the period, and features the classic string-of-pearls beading on the inner perimeter. The beautifully carved crest rises to encompass a delicately curved shell, flanked by tumbling swathes of flowers and foliage, which gently come to rest on each curved shoulder. There are some minor imperfections and small areas of damage to the frame, as would be expected with a piece of this age and usage, but this does not in any way detract from its charm.
