A 19th century Green-glazed Water Cruche
$600,00
A 19th-century fully glazed water cruche (jug), with side and top handle, and spout, but missing its original lid. This elegant piece of Provençal pottery was originally a fairly utilitarian piece of kitchen equipment, which would have been used to transport water to workers in the farm fields, keeping it cool and clean ready for drinking. Beautifully weathered, with a plethora of chips, flaked areas and imperfections, it bears witness to its long history of faithful service, and shows bags of character.
