19th Century Terracotta Olive Oil Jar with Four Handles
$1.400,00
A gorgeous antique terracotta olive oil jar, or gourd, dating from the 19th century, complete with shaped, narrow top spout and side handle, as well as three additional handle ‘straps’ to keep the vessel steady while pouring. Originating from Provence, in the South of France, this fabulous vessel has been half-glazed in a glossy shade of brown and shows plenty of signs of authentic use, as would be expected with a utilitarian piece of its age and usage.
